Corrective Exercise Therapy
Targeted exercise prescription that fixes the cause — not just the symptom — and gives you back control of your body.
What is Corrective Exercise Therapy?
Corrective exercise is the bridge between what we do in the clinic and what your body looks like six months from now. Hands-on care can release a restriction or quiet a flare-up, but lasting change happens when the nervous system relearns better movement under load. That requires structured, progressive exercise designed around your specific findings — not a generic handout.
At Functional Restoration Institute, every patient leaves with a corrective program rooted in the assessment we performed: gait analysis, FMS, joint testing, neurodynamic findings, and DNS-based stabilization. Programs are progressive — they evolve as you do, moving from activation and motor control to loaded patterns and sport-specific demands.
We build exercises you can actually do — short, focused, and mapped to a clear progression. The goal is independence: by the end of care you understand your body, you know what to do when something flares, and you have the tools to keep yourself out of the clinic.
Benefits
Benefits of Corrective Exercise Therapy
Addresses the root, not the symptom
Programs are built around your specific assessment findings — not a one-size-fits-all template — so they target what is actually driving your issue.
Progressive loading
Exercises evolve in difficulty as you do, moving you from activation through control to loaded performance — without skipping steps.
Builds long-term resilience
A well-designed corrective program does not just resolve current pain — it makes the body more robust and less prone to recurrence.
Time-efficient
We design programs you will actually do — typically 10–20 minutes, focused on the highest-yield exercises for your case.
Patient empowerment
You leave understanding what each exercise is doing and why — turning passive treatment into active self-management.
Your Visit
What to Expect at FR Institute
Your program is built from the assessment findings on file. Each exercise is taught in person — we coach the cues, the breath, and the dose, and confirm you can perform it correctly before sending you home. Programs are documented with video or written instructions you can reference.
We re-assess and progress the program every 2–4 visits. Expect the exercises to evolve — what felt hard in week one will feel automatic by week six, and the prescription advances accordingly.
