Conditions We Treat
Meniscal Injuries
Knee cartilage tears causing pain, swelling, and difficulty bearing weight.
Overview
Understanding Meniscal Injuries
The menisci are two C-shaped pieces of cartilage that sit between the thigh bone and shin bone, acting as shock absorbers and helping the knee track and load smoothly. Meniscal injuries occur when these structures are torn — sometimes from a single twisting event, sometimes from gradual degenerative wear.
Not every meniscal tear needs surgery. Recent high-quality research shows that many degenerative tears do as well or better with structured rehab compared with surgical intervention.
At FRI we evaluate the knee, hip, ankle, and core together, then design a plan that calms symptoms, restores function, and keeps you moving without rushing into the operating room.
