Fibromyalgia
Personalized care for widespread pain, fatigue, and the fog that comes with it.
Overview
Understanding Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia is a chronic disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, and tenderness in localized areas. While the exact cause is unknown, it is believed to involve abnormalities in the way the nervous system processes pain signals.
A growing body of evidence also suggests fibromyalgia may be related to dysfunction of the fascia — the connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles and other tissues throughout the body. This is why purely pharmaceutical approaches frequently fall short.
At FRI, we combine targeted fascial work with neuromuscular rehab and a Functional Medicine workup to address the conditions that can amplify or perpetuate fibromyalgia symptoms.
